In November 2026, the CNR headquarters in Piazzale Aldo Moro will be 89 years old. On 20 November 1937, the imposing building, constructed at the behest of Guglielmo Marconi, was inaugurated between the University City and the Italian Air Force buildings.

Construction work began in 1933 under the direction of Andrea Carlini. The project was based on the desire to create a functional and sober building with more than 185 spaces, including offices, meeting rooms, libraries, and representative halls, designed to allow for easy future expansions.
